Wicker Park Condo

This client needed an upgrade from college to curated.

The client contacted us to take his rental property to the next level. With quite a few restrictions on what we could and couldn't do with the existing walls, we rose to the challenge to make this space still feel just as unique, balanced, and with as much vitality as the client! This bachelor pad was in desperate need of help when we first arrived, but our client knew the value of creating a space to call home every day. He works from home, so he spends many of his days here. When he isn't here, his life is full of travel and excitement, so we wanted to bring in some earthy elements with splashes of bold color choices. Balancing those with timeless neutral pieces that he can carry with him into his next space was key in our thought process.

For this entertainment space, we started with helping him choose a unique handmade piece of art to center our design around. This pointed us in the direction of style and color choices. From the key painting over the dining table, we drew out the green for the sitting room rug, the blues for the opposite wall's custom handmade artwork grid, and the brighter yellow color for the 3 counter stools. We selected some warm lighting options to create flattering lighting as well as an uplight for the tree to create a dramatic effect on the ceiling. With a few curated accessory selections, we were able to bring all of this together to meet the exact budget number from the client. In the end, we were able to deliver a warm, cozy environment that has you wanting to curl up with a nice book, host a dinner date, or have all your friends over before a night out on the town!

In the bedroom we continued the warm toned color palette utilizing a bold patterned peel and stick wallpaper to stay renter friendly. For the main bed frame and nightstands we chose the neutral colors to ensure he will be able to use them in a later space, but pulled out the brighter colors of blues, purples, and oranges to accent the room. We were actually able to reuse the orange chair from the client's previous purchases to help us stay on budget and added some unique lighting to bring in a relaxing warmth to the room, even with the bold color choices. The client is super pleased with the result and has already received many compliments from friends!
